Thanks to everyone who has helped us with Fenrir. We realise that we plied you with offers of beer, wine and good food... while secretly intending to hand you a paint brush and some sand paper. But hey, needs must. I’m sure we can overcome our difficulties and go on to renew our friendships at some stage in the future. No. 1 introduces the deck-hands:

Our Crew

‘Bobs’ (Caroline)
Bobs has added a touch of glamour to the deck hand team, so we thank her for her sterling efforts scraping and painting, and of course the humourous notes etched into the side of the boat. Bobs soon realised that the dry dock was no place for her Manolo Blahnik’s and cut loose, but frankly, that’s quite understandable!

‘Ski’ (Ian)
Well, we simply wouldn’t have a bedroom if it wasn’t for your chippy skills. And now Skips can ‘cut and scribe’ there’s no end of jobs I’ve got lined up for him!  Ski has shared the good times and the bad times with us and it’s usually discussing the latest Pompey results!!

‘The Peg’ (Jake)
Peg is the youngest of our crew but that does not mean that he gets out of work.  He has helped us build a step to get onto the boat and varnished many a cupboard and trunk indoors.  Next job lined up for the Peg is to be our ‘Bilge Monkey’.  Thanks Peg

‘Eee’ (Elaine)
Eee has been a trooper in helping us fit out the boat with some hard carpentry and the varnishing of house hold objects.  Still its not all hard graft.  We’ve had lovely picnics on deck and an (intentional) swim in the Thames.

‘Shrek’ (Mike)
The resident hunk and life guard.  Vital when you have the above swim in the Thames.  A shame he wasn’t around when Skips, Sparkles and Scotty all had an accidental dunking.

‘Squire’ (John)
Squire is actually a real sailor with proper training and know-how (being ex-Navy)... so heaven knows how he is yet to graduate as a Fenrir sailor. But Squire deserves special praise for diverting well out of his way to take pictures of Fenrir in Holland before we had bought her, as well as for his sterling stint with the paint brush while in dry dock.

‘Moo’ (Mags)
Mooey has been invaluable with her assistance when it came to painting the boat.  In
the dry dock, she was up on the scaffolding like a true professional.  I did laugh when Skips thought Moo was not washing her hands hard enough to remove the paint.  The last laugh was on him, when he too got covered in the stuff (it stayed on for weeks).

‘Chef’ (Lyn)

Chef has played a vital role in nurturing the crew and has firmly established herself as our honourary mum especially when she exclaims “you don’t eat fish?, but its so good for you!” It really makes our day when we get a text from Chef saying “dinner at ours? 7pm?”

Not only does chef whip up the best home cooked meals, they are always served in style, on deck, with the best china and crystal!  After such luxury no wonder she does the hard graft in her galley rather than ours!

Chef is responsible for putting the Quiz team together (Skips, No.1, True Blue and Chef collectively known as Densa) and as Skips, No.1 and occasionally True Blue really do live up to our quiz name, she is also responsible for answering most of the questions.  Without Chef, we would never have won so much free alcohol... Cheers!
