Welcome!
Join Skips, No.1, Scotty and the intrepid crew of the good ship Fenrir as they tackle all issues barging and non-barging alike.

This is just so exciting, I’m quite over-whelmed. What awaits me on this website?

Probably disappointment??? In all seriousness:  Our ‘Blog’ chronicles our experiences of finding, purchasing, re-fitting, driving and living aboard a dutch barge in the UK... and the small matters of preparing Fenrir for a trip across Holland and crossing the North Sea... as well as the search for a mooring!

Plus... pictures of green men, videos of engines, painting tips AND, oh yes...!... absolutely NO mention of the credit crunch, world cup or britney spears. Check out the blog here.
Welcome to Fenrir

What is Fenrir?
Fenrir is a rare type of dutch barge called a “Langedijker” with an unusual history. Built in 1922 as a working ship, she has more recently been converted into a live-aboard. Currently, she is moored in Chertsey off the River Thames in the UK. For more information on Fenrir, click here...

Are your names really ‘Skips’, ‘No.1’ and ‘Scotty’?
Errmmm... no. But if you want to know more about us, visit the crew page! (well... if you REALLY want to know more about us, you should go to About Us.)

And so...
We hope you enjoy our not entirely serious, no-expenses spared website, and in return for your undivided attention, we’ll do our very best to entertain, inform and divulge!
Our special thanks go out to....
Bowcrest Marine... for finding Fenrir, Hermitage... for giving us a mooring, but no way of getting off it... Geoff and John @ Barge Walk... for giving us a mooring and a way to get to it, Ad Langelaar... for working to keep the Brons name alive and for finding Fenrir’s previous owners, Gerrard Duursma... for finding all those holes... Vince & his Service Van... for giving us hope when all hope was lost... Stefan & Colin of AC Marine... for saving all our lives (quite literally), Hucks Boatyard... for a wonderful two weeks in dry dock... The Irrepressible Eel Men... for sheer  entertainment and saving the tiger bag... and of course, last but not least... Scotty, Bezza, Squire and Moo for keeping the faith even when we had none left.
